Takht-e Abbasi hill

Takht is a Persian word meaning “flat surface”. A piece of land higher than its surrounding area in a desert. Its peaks have been removed by wind erosion during millenniums, creating a flat surface. Such natural phenomenon is a good landmark for path finding and a guide for trekkers due to its height and vast surface. Tahkt-e Abbasi Hill is located in Mesr desert near Farahzad village in central Iran. There are beautiful views and amazing landscapes of endless dunes around it. This site is accessible by 4wheel drive and is also a perfect trekking voyage for desert trekkers.
