26 years ago a group of workers exploded the mount near Delijan city in Markazi province, for leading the water flow to a special way, but that caused to explore one of the most fascinating limestone caves in Iran which is still active.Chal Nakhjir is the name of the area around the cave and means hunting ground.

The lifetime of Chal Nakhjir cave is about 70 million years, comprised 3 different floors, it is a wet and horizontal cave which is a special geology case, and formed mostly from limestone. Here’s the reason why most stones and structures are white somewhere colored to yellow for sulfur, black for iron, green for copper and red for mercury. The considerable point is that it is still active, and keeps spreading.

The evidences indicate there was running water among the cave, but has been dried because of climate change. At the ending part of the cave there is a 400 square meter mineral lake with about 70 m deep. The structures formed during millions of years shows interesting shapes. Also there are different amazing halls prepared for visitors.
